Each person participating will need to sign seperate waivers or they won’t be able to participate on the day
Activate Ocean Hope by Joining Something Iconic with Heart - Ocean Movement’s Leafy Seadragon Installation

On 1/11 or 8/11 2026, 888 people will gather at Port Willunga Beach to form the shape of a leafy seadragon, South Australia's marine emblem, in a large-scale community artwork for ocean hope captured for broadcast around the world.

* Be as creative with your costume or relaxed as you wish. Think ball gowns, active wear, opp shop with friends, paint your outfit, even paint yourself (no nudity pls). All arms and legs should be covered
* Just keep to the colour/s you've chosen, there's some hue suggestions in the pics on this page..
* Comfortable shoes suitable for a beach
* Towel (preferably close to the colour you've chosen or sand coloured
* A willingness to be part of something meaningful
What to expect on the day
* 10am arrival 1/11 or 8/11, 2026 at Port Willunga Beach at the time noted in your confirmation email dressed and ready to go (please allow time for parking and carpool where possible.
* You'll be welcomed by our crew of volunteers
* Our choreography team will guide you into formation
* They'll be a little patience while we get your fellow participants into position
* Positions will range from kneeling with head down and backs exposed, curled on your side to laying flat on your front or back
* The installation will be photographed from above and at ground level
* Participate in a heartfelt communal prayer to the ocean along the shoreline on completion of the Leafy Seadragon
* You'll be part of a moment that will be shared worldwide for the ocean and for the people who care for it
* You'll be requested to leave the beach to complete the activation
* Public bathrooms will be available for use before and after the event
* Most important: Ensure you leave the beach how you found it and take all personal items and rubbish with you - only leave your footprints behind
* Approximate end time 2pm.

There are some essential conditions above in REGISTER HERE that are necessary to ensure artist rights, public liabilities and conceptual integrity.
About your $20 minimum registration fee
Your registration fee directly supports this project and its partners including the artist, Great Southern Reef Foundation and MusicForTheSea enabling both the artwork itself and the ongoing conservation and awareness work it represents.
