My 1970s Kodachrome series of paintings are inspired by family slides taken when we were traveling overseas in the late 1970s. As I was only 4 years old I have no memory of the experiences but having looked at these slides over many years I have strong memories of the slides and the stories that have been shared by my family. These memories became even more significant to me with the sudden passing of my father in 2012.
In contrast to the theme of nostalgia that interests me in the subject of my works, I use current technology to manipulate the images; heightening the colours and distorting the images.
